Unable to resize Windows 8 volume under PD8

Has anyone been able to resize Windows 8 disk volumes under Parallels 8? I created an initial install of Windows 8, and it works fine. I converted it to a template, and deployed it to another VM, no problems. I needed to increase the space of the newly deployed VM, so I went into the settings and increased the size of the volume. Afterwards, the deployed VM does not boot. I booted to the recovery console from the Windows 8 boot disc, went into the command prompt and ran diskpart. It shows NO partitions on the disk. I also booted the VM using the linux-based systemrescuecd iso, ran fdisk, and confirmed that the partitions are missing after resizing the volume. I went through this whole process three times, and it appears that Parallels 8 is broken when it comes to resizing Windows 8 NTFS disk volumes.

I tried with the "Resize file system" option checked and un-checked. No matter what, the resize operation corrupts the disk. Total data loss.

Any suggested solutions would be much appreciated.

Well I have an update to this...

I was able to resize a Windows 8 volume. Here are the steps:

- Convert the volume from an Expanding Disk to a Basic Disk.
- Resize the volume, with "Resize file system" checked.
- Convert the volume from a Basic Disk back to an Expanding Disk (if you wish).

So, it appears there is a serious bug with resizing Windows 8 volumes in Expanding Disk format. Converting them to a Basic Disk allows you to resize the volume. When it's completed, you can convert it back to an Expanding Disk.

Now, what's really strange is, if you convert it back to an Expanding Disk after resizing it, you can resize it in Expanding Disk format afterwards. Very strange.
