uninstalling parallels doesn't remove boot camp configuration

Since I use my Boot Camp install of XP about 50% of the time I use my Macbook Pro, I thought I'd try parallels desktop for the times that a full reboot into windows isn't necessary. This worked fine, until I had to start booting into windows for more complex tasks. Although boot camp worked fine, I kept geting the annoying black screen that tells you to choose windows configuration to boot with. (parallels configuration or windows xp professional) I found this kind of annoying after about 3 days and decided to uninstall parallels until this gets worked out. However, this continues to occur even after uninstalling parallels. How do i stop this? Thanks!

did you try to uninstall parallel tools for bootcamp in win xp?
alternatively there should be an option in win xp to delete the parallels hardware profile (try control panel -> system -> hardware -> profiles - sorry if this isn't the exact translation because i'm running a german win xp).

There are also registry values that I think are BC_TOOL or something like that. You should delete all the registry values associated with BootCamp tools. However, there is stll something that the tools did that I cannot figure and is casusing my BC install to blue screen. Hopefully the Parallels Team will release a tool that you can run within the VM that will completely reverse the process.

i went and just changed the default boot configuration to xp pro for now, that seems to be working until i get parallels back up. (i think i need more ram before i try it again)
