Universal Printing - 2X XG 10.1 ( Build 1227 )

Hi

I'm running two Win2K8R2 SP1 servers. Clients loadballanced across both servers, providing full RDP sessions. works well for that... BUT

Universal printing... drama after drama... I just avoid the2x printer driver where ever I can now ? Can anyone give me a list of things to try ? ie What can effect the 2X printer driver AV ?

In the most recent case of the 2XUP failing, this was that details.
remote user OS: Win764
2X client: 10.1 ( build 1204 ) ( 64 bit )
Configured Client 2X Client -> 2XUP to use 'default printer' and EMF

Printer shows up in the printers - but when I do a test page it just stays in the print queue on the server ? and never makes it to the local printer queue on the users computer/lan.

I have another site running same setup but ver 9.0 no problems at all....

I know there were some fixes on the latest build for the application server as far as universal printing goes so you might want to upgrade to that

Clientside update will fix this, even when the client says that you have the latest build.

I had to reinstall every single client to fix this, I noticed that when I was re-installing the latest build downloaded from the webside to overwrite the latest build updated from the client. The installer will perform a "clean install" rather than sugest a repair, but if u try to re-install over again it will prompt for a repair instead of a clean install...


Weird uh? I found it weird too, but now im concerned about duplex printing :/
