Untimely Mac file updates

I create new files in Win 7, then got to Mac Mail and attach them to e-mails. The problem is that the files do not appear right away in my Mac OS. I must always "pause" my Win 7 desktop, then "restart" in order for the files to appear in my Mac OS. Is there a Parallels setting to make the files immediately appear on my Mac OS?
