Up to Parallels 14 then Win 10 to 1803, "getting ready" stuck

After upgrading to the latest Parallels followed by a day long update to Windows 10 1803, Windows when booting just gives me the dot spinner on a blue screen with a Getting Ready. I saw some threads about removing USB, so I did that, no change. Not sure what else to do.
Unfortunately I didn't back up the VM before updating Windows, and it's an important VM that I need to recover. Help help!

Please let us know your Parallels Desktop and Mac OS version.

Hello AkivaM, Kindly start the virtual machine and go to the top menu bar, click on Actions--> Take snapshot. once the snapshot is done then again click on Actions--> Reset and then check with the Windows virtual machine.

Kindly go to actions again, Actions--> STOP then restart the mac computer and the Windows virtual machine .
