Update from build 1940

I've a clean installation of Parallels Desktop for Mac; this is currently on a very old version (build 1940) as I had to rebuild my Mac. I've tried updating this to a more recent build, but it hangs on the 'checking for updates' part of the update process.

Is there a resolution for this problem?

I've updated from build 1940 using the instructions posted in the referenced thread; unfortunately my activation key no longer works.

Please advise.

Please note that minimum version supported on Leopard is http://www.parallels.com/en/download/file/en/GA/Parallels-Desktop-3224-Mac-en.dmg
