Upgrade from Parallels 5 to 12

Hi folks,

It's been a long time that I last used my Win 7 VMs created with Parallels 5. Due to the last major update for macOS to 10.11.6 the old Parallels 5 installed on the machine is no longer supported. I bought the new Parallels 12 full version. Is it possible to transfer the VMs to the new Parallels or do I have to create new VMs?

Hi FrankB2, .pvm is the extension of Parallels Desktop virtual machine. Simply install Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac and double click on .pvm to start your Windows virtual machine. If you can't find the .pvm file, please check out this article to find it.
