Upgrade from Parallels Desktop 6: Can I still access my old windows applications

I'm currently running Parallels Desktop 6 but have upgraded my Mac OS X to the latest El Capitan version and just found out that my version of Parallels Desktop doesn't work.

If I purchase Parallels Desktop 11 does it install on top of my old version and make me able to access my windows applications from Parallels Desktop 6?
There is especially one program which is very crucial that I can access.

Yes, you will be able to retrieve the Windows files with out any issues. Installing Parallels Desktop 11 will automatically capture your Windows files which was running in Parallels Desktop version 6, so you will not loose any files.
