Upgrade problem: Windows 7 to Windows 10

I have tried multiple times to upgrade Windows 7, 64 bit, to Windows 10 on an iMac with Parallels 10. I get messages indicating 2 problems:
1. Parallels Display Adapter Adapter (WDDM): The display manufacturer hasn't made your display compatible with Windows 10. Check with the manufacturer for support.
2. The PC doesn't have enough RAM (This persists after I reconfigured RAM to 4 GB).

Is there a solution to this problem?

Please follow the knowledge base article to fix Parallels Display Adapter WDDM in Windows 10:
NOTE: for installing a 64-bit version of Windows 10 please make sure your virtual machine has at least 2GB of RAM assigned. To check virtual machine's RAM please open configuration menu -> Hardware tab -> CPU & Memory. To increase the memory you would need to shut down your virtual machine.

I'm have the same problem with my Parallels Display Adapter WDDM when trying to install Win10 on my Apple MB Air from within Windows.

Running El Capitan Beta 10.11 15A244d
Windows 7
Intel HG graphics 5000 1536 MB
Parallels 10.2.2
Running 32 bit system
All of the above report that the software is the latest. I also did the tool update in your post above.
Am I missing something or do you think I need to wait until El Capitan is out of beta?
On another computer (iMac running Win 7 with Bootcamp), I was able to install Win 10 and there it seems to be running fine. I get the same WDDM error message when attempting to update to Win 10.
Note: Win7 runs fine within Parallels with El Capitan beta.

When following your WDDM article I download this MediaCreationToolx64.
When running this I get this error
Translated into English: Something went wrong

Are you trying to install Win10 in a Parallels VM?

When you ran the the WDDM file from the link above, did you run it in Windows? The first couple of times I ran it, I wasn't in Parallels and got the error message about my video adaptor. Last night I ran it in Win7 in Parallels. When it ran, I didn't get ANY message. Strangely enough, it opened up the installation for Win10 when then ran for about 1.5 hours, ending up with Windows 10 as my OS.

Don't know what the HD space required is, but it looks like with only 20 GB, you might be on the low side. Are you splitting your 80 GB HD with OS-X as well?

I shut down Windows 8.1, shut down Parallels 11, then restart the latter to adjust the RAM, but I get the same annoying message about shutting down the VM. Am I going mad or is there something wrong with Parallels? I've got the upgrade to Windows 10 app, but that tells me that the "...display manager hasn't made your display compatible with Windows 10..."

Hello Paul,

I eventually upgraded Parallels Desktop from 10 to 11 in the hope I would be able to upgrade Windows 7 to 10. The Windows upgrade still noted problem with Parallels Display Adapter WDDM when I clicked on the "Get Windows 10" icon. When I used the download link from Parallels, Media Creation Tools exe, I was able to get to the preparing stage where I got an error message: "Setup has failed to initialize the working directory" Do you have any suggestions?
