Upgrade to 7.0.15107 failed

Just to let you know:

After upgrading to 7.0.15107 on MBP I cannot start any VM anymore. Always get the error message (now from /Library/Logs/parallels.log):

>> Short Message = "Unable to connect to Parallels Service."
>> Long Message = "Make sure that the prl_disp_service process is active and it is not blocked by Firewall. For details, please refer to <a href="http://kb.parallels.com/en/8089">http://kb.parallels.com/en/8089</a>. If the problem persists, contact the Parallels support team for assistance."

After downgrading back to 7.0.15094 everything is OK again. A bug report was filed to Parallels.com ...
 
How to find the report id and other problems ...

Unfortunately I didn't note down the ID ... but it can be found in /Library/Logs/parallels.log (for others who search for these IDs in the future ;-): 17917730

BTW: It would be great if a copy of the problem report would be copied to .../Parallels/Problem Reports ...

... and: The log file also tells me:

09-10 09:54:46.158 F /prl_problem_report_utils:3516:1103/ archive path /tmp/Problem Reports/PrlProblemReport-2012.09.10-09.33.49.466.tar.gz was not deleted

But the file is not there anymore (the directory still exists but is empty - and I didn't reboot or cleanup /tmp).
 
Except for "Restart Mac" or even "Do a disk check" I tried the KB suggestions (relaunch etc., reinstall). For the problem directly occured after the upgrade to 15107 it was apparent that this was the root cause.

I hate to restart the Mac since I always have a lot of applications open - including some databases in the background which I will not start automatically on boot. Additionally there is no firewall involved (or even no new rules) when I just perform a Parallels upgrade.

So I consider the KB article only as partly helpful for power users ...

Did you find the problem with the upgrade?
 
i suggest you these steps for the problem you have:


1. Launch Terminal application located in Applications/Utilities
2. Paste the command below into Terminal as is and hit return

sudo launchctl stop com.parallels.desktop.launchdaemon


3. You might need to type you Mac password and hit return (you will not see characters while typing)
4. Paste another command to start Parallels Service and hit return:

sudo launchctl start com.parallels.desktop.launchdaemon

please, don't waste your and my time ... the recipe you suggest is identical to http://kb.parallels.com/en/8089 ... I am working in computer science for more than 30 years now and can execute algorithms. I tried this two or three times before filing the bug report (you could have seen this from the files attached to the bug). If it had worked, we would not discuss the issue here ... So please spend your time analyzing the "real" problem.

I am not the person dealing with problem reports i'm afraid and sadly you are an exception here - to make the information better visible is usually the key for resolution.
I will let you know as soon as any information become available regarding your issue.
