Upgrade to 7 sucking up all memory

I only use Parallels/Windows for one tiny program. Just before I upgraded from 5 to 7, browsing (on 3 different browsers) and running any other program has slowed down considerably. After the upgrade, it's nearly impossible. (There was no problem 6 months ago when I had 5.)

I have a MacBook, OS 10.6.8. 2.26 GHz processor. Memory 2 GB. prl_vm is using 400 MB and often 100% of CPU. There is virtually no free memory.
