Upgrades - MacOS 10.7.5 to MacOS 9, and Parallels 7 to 9 (Windows 7)

Hi:
I have been experiencing recurring problems with abnormal endings to Windows 7 with my current MacBook Pro configuration of Mac OS 10.7.5 and Windows 7 Parallels Desktop. Having to totally replace my Windows 7 Home Premium because of a catastrophic failure in Windows 7 virtual machine was the root cause of my continuing problems with my configuration.
Would an upgrade of both my Mac OS to 9.1 and my Parallels 7 to Parallels 9 (still using Windows 7 as the guest OS) resolve my unresolved issues?
If it is deemed possible to do so successfully, what is the correct order (process) for achieving those two upgrades?

Hi Looran: Thanks for the timely information.
Can you provide any assurances that performing my planned upgrades, following the process that you outlined, my problems with my current Mac OS 10.7.5 and Windows 7 - Parallels Desktop (Windows 7 Home Premium having been re-installed) will be eliminated?
I keep my configuration up-to-date and perform daily anti-malware scans with Malwarebytes Pro for Windows 7, and the integral Mac OS anti-malware protection.

That reassurance can't be given, those problems are not any characteristic behaviour of the software combination you have, it's also a stable combination.The upgrade will more than likely not resolve your unresolved issues, it depends very much on the causes. Personally I think those problems should be dealt with before upgrading.

Hi again Looran: Given your lack of re-assurances, I will continue to operate with my current configuration, until I can resolve my issues (although I have not experienced any Windows 7 VM crashes lately, and I have resolved my issue with Mac OS auto-rebooting when my system is left unattended with MacBook Pro cover open - to permit Malwarebytes Pro to complete its full scan).

Hi Specimen: Sorry for the error!
I also cannot seem to find this thread/posts on the "Your Posts" list in my Profile webpage.
I have submitted a note to the Webmaster regarding this situation, but I have yet to receive a response.
I had another "Windows recovered from an Unexpected shutdown" error message today; hence, my problems have not yet been fully resolved!

I have yet to attempt my migration from Mac OS 10.8.5 (recently upgraded during a replacement of my 500 GB hard drive with a 1 TB one) to Maverick, thence from Parallels 7 to Parallels 9 (I purchased this version just before Parallels 10 was made available) - or should the order be reversed?
However, I continue to experience Windows 7 VM failures (tcpip.sys-related) shortly after each restart of the program. I am attaching a WORD file which outlines the latest failures with an extract from the results of an Internet search for a resolution of the problem - oops, the Upload a File option will not accept my MS Word MAC 2011 file!. Because part of the resolution required downloading and execution of a Windows-based program, I have been unable to execute the program before another tcpip.sys-based failure occurs. Please advise what possible actions can be taken to resolve this issue, as an essential prelude before attempting the migration of Parallels and Mac OS.

Please, don't personalize your questions, anyone might be able to give you an answer.
Personally, I have no idea what your problem might be from the information given. Also, why would you want to attach a word file? Can't you just paste the text?
 
Hi again Specimen: Sorry for that, but I am desperate to resolve this long-outstanding issue. I consider that the tcpip.sys failure is related not just to Windows 7, but more likely to some aspect of the Parallels virtual machine. I will pursue a separate post for this issue. The contents of my WORD document were largely an extract from a website with purported solutions to the tcpip.sys problem.
BTW, regarding the main subject of my original post, do I assume that the correct sequence for the upgrade process is Parallels 9 first (compatible with Mac OS 10.8.5), then Mac OS Maverick (or Yosemite). Thanks again.
 
Then just paste the address to the website article you want to refer to?
(Not to mention that Word attachments are considered unsafe by default by most sysadmins, they are also a proprietary format (MS Office) that require the receiver to have the corresponding app to open it.)

Yes, you should first upgrade Parallels and then OS X.
