Urgent: NO Internet in Parallels after Security Update

I just updated to the new security update provided by Apple this morning "Security Update 2008-002," and now I no longer have Internet in Parallels. I have tried all modes.

I have the same problem as of rebooting OSX last night.
Thanks for connecting it to the security update-- that hadn't occurred to me.

My old standby solution for broken networking doesn't work.
(In the past, I would solve this problem by adding en3 in the sharing panel of system preferences. Networking would then work-- for a while. A few days later, it'd break again, then I would remove en3 from sharing & all would be well. Never understood why.)

Thank you for the reports.

We usually need more details to identify the problem.
Are you using wired or wireless connection? Is your virtual network adapter set for Shared Networking or for Bridged Ethernet?
Could you let me see the output of these commands:

ifconfig from Mac Terminal;
ipconfig /all from Windows CMD (Start -> Run -> CMD);
tracert www.parallels.com from Windows CMD.

Artlu, thank you for the ifconfig output. Please fill in the blanks.

You can try the following:

1. Open Mac System Preferences -> Network -> Parallels NAT;
2. In Configure IPv4 field choose "Off" and click "Apply";
3. Do the same for Host-Guest adapter;
4. Shut down the Virtual Machine;
5. Reboot the Mac and switch DHCP back on for both Parallels network adapters;
6. Restart Parallels.

(Even though I did it in a different order-- shut down the VM first.)

Nope

No.. that is not the answer... tried it for me, and no luck. As for the other print out items.. they are all standard - i'm a sysadmin, and everything looks fine.
 
FYI, No problem here with new update

FYI, I installed Vista SP1 yesterday and OS X update today and haven't had any issues connecting to Internet from Vista (Ultimate, installed in Parallels VM and not BootCamp partitions). I have had some more bluescreens tho, likely related to an issue discussed elsewhere wrt sleep/standby state. otherwise everything seems cool. for now.

Cybertubby and Riisor, thank you for the feedback.

Artlu, please reinstall Parallels.
There is something with Parallels NAT if Parallels and the adapters do not get IP.
So, at first we should make the adapters working again and then we'll see.
