Parallels Version: Mac 11.1.1 Host Machine: iMac 27 inch late 2012 Host OS: OSX El Capitan 10.11.2 Guest OS: Ubuntu 14.04 I have a USB Bluetooth dongle that is connected directly to my iMac. I can see the dongle when I run the Utilities - System Information tool. With my guest VM running, I can see the dongle in my Devices - External Devices list. However if I select the device from that list, it disappears but I never get a notification that it is available in the guest VM. If I run hciconfig or hcitool dev, I see an empty list. This symptom was isolated to occur when I updated from El Cap 10.11.1 to 10.11.2
Hi, Apple has changed USB stack in 10.11.2, that's why Parallels driver has some issues now. When connecting USB to vm, try to unplug device from Mac and plug it back. It should appear in VM. Expect fix in the nearest Parallels Desktop update
Thanks. Unfortunately replugging the device is not sufficient in my case. I'm using programming BLE USB dongles via Bluez on an Ubuntu VM. While the dongles do appear in the VM after unplugging occasionally, the interfaces are often still down and not addressable. Using something more simply like a USB MSC device seems to recover ok with this workaround but in my case it is still just as broken.
Hello Gary, thank you for reporting us the issue, this seems to be known issue in the latest build of Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac and our Engineers are looking into this. And this should be fixed in our future updates. Stay tuned for the update, http://kb.parallels.com/123410
