I am running RC2 and have just decided to re-visit USB support, and from my personal experience it's working quite well. I can print to my Samsung ML-1510 laser printer, and scanning works with my (fairly ancient) Agfa Snapscan e26.
The only real issue I have is that it's pretty darn slow. Scanning a page in Win2003 running on my 2.16Ghz MPB with 2GB (384MB allocated to VM) takes about 90 seconds, whereas the same operation takes about 20-30 seconds on my other Win2003 VM (running virtualised on a 3Ghz P4 Linux Box under VMWare).
As an aside, pretty much the only reason I use windows for personal things (as opposed to work) is for ScanSoft's PaperPort software for storing documents. I would love to find an OS X equivalent but haven't been able to so far.
Cheers
James
