USB Ports Do Not Initialize Correctly in Parallels

I recently had some problems with Parallels (9344) abruptly shutting down. I eventually got this fixed but now find that my USB ports are not initializing correctly. When I look at USB under Devices, I see the correct list of USB connections but when I click on one, nothing happens and the item disappears for a few minutes until it eventually reappears. How do I fix this problem?
