USB printer doesn't work in windows 7, parallels 5

Windows 7 home premium
Epson workforce 600

USB printer shows up in windows control panel. does not print. Printer does not show up in parallels, configure, usb controller window. The printer shows up in Parallels configure/connected in "printer port" area of of devices/configure. Epson tech support does not have an answer.
Epson workforce did work in xp/parallels
