Very long time to resume Windows XP

Running release 5160. For the first time in awhile, I suspended Windows XP instead of doing a shutdown. This morning, it took over 15 minutes to resume. Has anyone encountered this?
 
Hello,

try to restart your Mac OS first, then restart your Windows, after that try to shut it (Windows) down. Will the problem still occur?

Thanks for your reply. I had already done what you suggested prior to posting. I am leary about suspending again, as I am at work and can't afford to lose another 15 minutes. Shutting down Windows works perfectly every time. I will try suspending Windows at the end of the day.
