video ram insufficient for Aperture

Hello,
I installed os lion to upgrade my aperture library of v 3.1. So it wil open in the current version 3.6 (yes how complicated must it be?).
Then it turned out I could not run aperture v3.1 in Lion because video card is not sufficient. I can only get it to 2 mb. If the slider is turned to 250 or 500 mb, then video ram stays at 2 or 3 mb.
How to get Parallels to enlarge video ram?
Tips are welcome.
 
The likely cause is that There's no hardware video acceleration for OS X Guests, AFAIK Apple doesn't allow access to the API in order to permit writing the necessary video drivers.
