As I have big troubles with the Parallels coherent mode since the upgrade to Mavericks, I have no choice but to try if I get any better results with VMWare Fusion (I actually used to run VMWare Fusion before changing to Parallels). With no choice I mean that Parallels support was so far unable to solve the problem and hence I have to search for alternatives.

However, to top my frustration, I cannot import the Parallels VM to VMWare Fusion. After 2 hours of running the import process, I get the error message "virtual hard disk header information is corrupt". Searching the subject on the VMWare support forum, it says to contact Parallels support.

Before doing so, has anyone come across this issue or this error message and can point me to a remedy?

I managed to convert the Parallels VM using VMWare Converter instead of...

    ...of the import feature.

After 2 days of working in Unity mode I can say NO CRASHES WHATSOEVER.

Sadly I have to say bye bye to Parallels as its coherent mode simply doesn't work reliable.
