Virtual Machine hogging Bandwidth

I have Windows XP in a Boot Camp partition that I use Parallels to boot into. While running Parallels, I often use WebEx on the Mac. (WebEx is Web-Conferencing software). Webex uses quite a bit of bandwidth to properly function, and I have noticed that if XP is also running, the Mac does not get all of the bandwidth it needs.

An example of this is that if I am using WebEx to do screen-sharing, there is a lot of lag if Parallels is running, and the lag disappears if I close it.

Is there a fix to this? I need to have both open at times so I can screen share some Windows apps, but I would prefer to run WebEx in OSX.

Is there a way to maybe limit the network resources the VM will use?
 
mhh... I dont see no reason why Windows should cause any significant traffic if there is no connection to the internet established.

To find out: disable Parallels' network adapter. This is isolating the VM. If this proves to work better, further investigation could be done.

But if it is the same result, maybe 'bandwidth' is not the issue.

ps: to disable Parallels network adapter, uncheck it in the VM's configuration under "Network".

Both WebEx and gotomeeting are using so-calld "push" technology, which is very greedy on bandwidth consumption. A "pull" based web conferencing system is much friendly on bandwidth competition. RHUB web conferencing is a "pull" based solution. Check their web conference service at www.gomeetnow.com. They also offer appliance based web conferencing.
