I'm running a Win7 VM in Parallels 6 (6.0.12106) und MacOS X (10.6.8) an my MacBookPro.
Recently I had to change my network settings in the VM to bridged networking (standard-adapter) in order to run a remote desktop connection over a VPN tunnel.
And I had big issues to get it working, as it kept saying "No internet connection" in the VM.
It turned out, that the VM doesn't automatically receive an IP address from my WLAN router (Fritz!Box 7270) to which the MacBook is connected. When I set up the Windows network adapter to use a fixed IP alternatively it finally worked (I can ping the router and internet access works).
The strange thing is that DHCP works well when I'm connected to an AccessPoint spanned by my iPhone (connecting to internet over mobile data connection).
I checked that the router allows new clients to connect to the WLAN, but I'm not sure if this is really relevant, since the VM doesn't use a WLAN-adapter to connect.
Then I also made sure that the VM has its own MAC address (even with the host's MAC address it didn't work).
I also tried some of the hints in the trouble shooter like removing+adding the VM's network adapter in Parallels and re-installing the Parallels Tools, but none of them helped.
Is there anything else I need to consider?
Do you have any ideas, what might be the reason of the problem?
