VM will not start ... gets hung on black screen w/ spinning wheel

I closed my laptop (without shutting anything down) before the holiday weekend. Came back today and the VM does not want to start. I have force quitted it several times (via Activity Monitor). I have rebooted my Mac multiple times.
When I try to start the VM, I get a black screen that says, "Parallels EFI x64 14.0.0-45124 / Press any key to enter boot device menu ......"
That text disappears and then I get a white spinning wheel at the bottom of the black screen and it just stays in that state.

Any other brilliant ideas?

Hi KarenR2. Please start the virtual machine, select Actions (from the Mac menu bar) -> Take Snapshot. Again select Actions -> Reset and check if it works fine.
