VM Window Random Resize

Ok ... maybe not random resize, but I run the VM in a window that is stretched to max screen real estate. I switch back and forth c/o the hidden dock on the left of the screen. I cannot narrow down what triggers it, but for time to time, the Windows 7 VM resizes to about 1/4 of the normal size and all the apps open in it resize to max. So when I pull the screen back to where it was, all the apps are tiny. Does anyone know what triggers this to happen? How can I prevent this?
 
I re-installed, restarted, re-installed again a few times and it still does not behave. I am running a trial of Fusion to see if it works better for my needs.
