VPN: Can't map windows drive.

I'm trying to connect to my company's network using XP in parallels. Since I couldn't get the initial vpn connection to work from windows, I bought the Apani contivity client for OS x and am now able to connect to the network and map servers in OS X.

The problem is, I can't map drives or connect to the internet from within XP using shared or bridged networking. Strangely, I am able to correctly ping our servers from XP, so it's partially working, but I'm stuck about what to do next.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am also having the exact same problem. I can ping a shared network drive by both IP address as well as host name, but cannot create a shared folder from Win XP SP2 within Parallels to that network resource. Mac OS X has no problem connecting to the resource, and I even tried connecting to the resource from within Mac OS X before I tried to map a Win XP SP2 drive letter to the resource.

Error message is "The network path <name>\<drive> could not be found." within Win XP SP2.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
I'm also have a similar issue with the Apani client.

I can connect to the VPN network with OSX no problem.

I'm running windows Vista in Parallels and I am able to ping a couple of different internal corporate IP's, however, i have not been able to connect through a browser using either the IP or the name.

The Vista Network trouble shooter says it is having issues locating a dns server.

I can connect just fine when I am not using the Apani VPN client.

Thanks for any advice or even just letting me know if it can't be done right now

Hello all,

What is the 'primary' connection setting under Apple's System Preferences -> Network?
It will be whatever one is on top. If you want your VPN to work, it should be the top one.

Secondly, what kind of networking are you using in your VMs? The above typically applies to Shared Networking.

Finally, I need some more detailed information about your computers... Parallels build #, OS Vers. #, Connection type, etc.
 
Network status appears as following:

Airport
Parallels NAT
Parallels Host-Guest

The VPN connection doesn't appear to show up in my network stutus...My Apani client status appears as a web interface in Safari.

My Parallels build is 3188 (March 7, 2007)
OSX v10.4.9

I'm running Windows Vista Business in parallels

I am using the Shared Networking option.

I can switch over to use Network Adapter -> en1:Airport /Wireless, at which point i can connect to the internet with Vista, just not with VPN.
