Hi,
I am having an issue with Parallels in which I cannot connect my guest OS (Win 7) to the work vpn. The MAC side usually connects fine. I can connect fine at home, and this issue only arose when we recently moved offices and switched to AT&T. Now when I attempt to connect to the VPN from within parallels it hangs at "Verifying username/pw" for a while then tells me it couldn't connect.
Here is a list of things I have tried:
-Creating a new VPN connection
-Changed the router from 192.168.1.x handouts to 192.168.5.x handouts because our vpn is also 192.168.1.x and I thought that may have been conflicting
-Tried both bridged and shared networking mode
-Disabled firewall in Win 7
-Added router firewall exception for the Macbook Air to allow PPTP outbound connections
-A myriad of other things
Some things I may try next:
-Hard wired connection instead of wifi
-Changing security type of WIFI
-Someone suggested dragging the VPN to the top of the MAC connection list in order to force all the traffic through it
-Try an entirely new Parallels Win7 image
I need to be able to access the vpn from my Win 7 guest OS in order to use a certain program for work. Is there anything else I can try? I am pretty much tapped out in regards to possible solutions.
