Was working fine....now, Getting Error Message

Parallels was working fine on my MacBook till today....now, it get the black screen and it says "A disk error has occurred...Press Control+Alt+Del to restart" (which doesn't work).

I'm looking to get one file out of Windows XP that I need desperately!!

You can retrieve file by using Parallels Explorer, just open Parallels Explorer from Applications/Parallels and click disk
As for error I suppose you need to perform Windows repair
 
thanks, but that didn't work...now I get the following:
Virtual machine cannot be started because of the following problem:

Parallels Desktop is unable to access the virtual hard disk image file /Users/billzobrist/Documents/Parallels/Microsoft Windows XP/winxp.hdd. The file is corrupted.
 
Backup Virtual Machine folder /Users/billzobrist/Documents/Parallels/Microsoft Windows XP/ -just copy to external drive - this is necessary!
and perform steps described in http://kb.parallels.com/en/4680
Note,
Try operations with every hds file you find, not with the biggest and the latest only, if you find several hds files
