Weird keyboard problem

I am running beta4 on a macbook pro with parallel tools installed.
When i try to type in the letter r anywhere (say in the URL bar) of internet
explorer (this is in windows xp pro), r is treated as a shortcut and the
"run cmd.." window comes up.

So, I am restricted to browse URL's without the r-key :(

Any workarounds for this?

What happens when you hit the "D" or "H" key? It sounds like your VM might think the "Windows" (Apple/Command) key is depressed...
 
I've had a similar problem where occasionally the system acts like I'm permanently holding down a key (it happened to me w/ backspace once, which was a pain).

It seems to go away when I hit another key. But it's still obnoxious.
 
Yeah, I got some funny dialogs about the accessibility features in XP this morning every time I pressed the U key...

Using beta 4 too, on a Mac Book Pro.
 
Under DOS, sometimes pressing the caps-lock key (using a MBP) and then pressing it again seems to leave caps-lock on - alpha keys are capitalized even though the caps lock key is off (as verified in the host OS). I'm pretty sure that pressing it again makes everything lower-case, even though the caps lock is now enabled.

I suspect that this is an issue with loading and that the Vm is losing the keypress transfer, since I see this only under DOS running an application that has it's own idle-loop.

In the same configuration, having serial ports SIGNIFICANTLY slows down the running speed of the application.
 
I think a mouse problem I just experienced may be related. The machine was busy doing a network copy, and I clicked in a window in the guest OS, then moved the mouse. A bit later (maybe half a second) the item where the pointer had moved was selected (not the item I had clicked) (I'd submit this as a bug report but this computer doesn't do email)
