where or where has my task bar gone!

I like my XP task bars on the sides, and I know Parellels likes to force them to the bottom!

I just used transporter to bring my favorite build of xp sp3 over and the task bar was on the right by default. I cannot get or find the task bar now. If I hit the windows/options key the menu pops out for the right but the bar is MIA and I cannot move it nor is it locked! I've tried changing desktop size and am lost on my next attempt to find it and force it to the bottom.

So, if I understood correctly you do not see Windows taskbar at all?

In that case, if this is Parallels Desktop 4.0 most probably it is hidden. You need to go to Parallels menu -> Applications and make sure that "Hide Windows taskbar" option is not enabled.
 
Thanks. I did find a work-around this morning. Even knowing "windows" had the task bar as VISIBLE I made it hidden and then made it visible again. Not sure what triggered this but this work-around worked.
