I just got a MacBook Pro Retina. I would like to move all my windows 7 files to my new mac. I need to buy Windows or the transporter application can copy? My current windows is 32 bit. If I need to buy windows should I get a 32 bit version? Where can I get it?

Thanks

Hello Leif11,

If you have a windows PC, you can migrate Windows from your PC to your new Mac computer. You can follow the steps suggested at: http://kb.parallels.com/115007 to migrate Windows PC to Parallels Desktop Virtual Machine. ( Note: Parallels USB cable is not in use )

Also if you would like to purchase a Windows license, you need to contact Microsoft. Both 32-bit and 64-bit works in Parallels Desktop so you can install any one.

The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information. The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system.

Follow the steps suggested at: http://kb.parallels.com/4729 to install Windows on your Mac using Parallels Desktop.

Please let us know, if you have any additional questions.
