Which is faster, uses less memory - XP or Windows 7

I need to run a single application (QuickBooks 2010) in Parallels on my iMac.

Does anyone have any views on which would be better as the virtual operating system - 32 bit/64bit XP or Windows 7.

I'm guessing 32bit because Quickbooks 2010 is still 32bit but I can't find any information of whether XP or Windows 7 is the way to go.
 
Windows XP 32 bit requires less memory. Also it will be faster than Windows 7.
