Why Does Configuring a TS User Start App Effect 2X?

Hi

I am using 2X Application server 8.1 and the Terminal Server users do not have the "Start the following program at login" under "Environment" setup. However, if I setup the environment so that someone can connect using the normal Remote Desktop Client it affects their 2X login and printing no longer works.

Why can I not have both configured and working so that a user could choose to use the 2X client or the Remote Desktop client? The reason for this problem is the use of tablets which do not have a stable 2X client. In such cases the user wants to connect using an available RDP client.

Hi there,

of course you can use MSTSC and the 2xClient parallel. This is done from quiet a lot of our customers without any problems. Even the 2xClient for tablets (Android, iPad) works well and is stable. We use it internal every day.

Most properly there is something set up not properly.

Can you confirm that you have the mentioned issues even with the latest version 10.0.1142 of the 2xServer AND 2xClient?

Hi

I cannot test version 10 as I do not own it. I am not sure how something could not be configured incorrectly as there is very little to configure in regards to printing under 2X universal printing. That is the only part affected by having both 2X and Terminal Services environment setup.
