Why Does Parallels Want to Access Data from Other Applications?

Every time I start Parallels Desktop, it requests access to data from other applications? Every time, I hit Deny because I don't see any reason to provide this access and have had no issues running what I want to when denying the access. Can anybody tell me why Parallels Desktop needs this access? And why my choice of "Deny" is not persisted for future startups of Parallels?
 
FWIW, the replies I received from Parallels support were wholly unsatisfactory. First they thought there should be a checkbox to persist my choice. (There is not). Then they gave me two remedies:
  1. Grant Parallels all the access it wants (but they couldn't explain why it was needed, when Parallels seems to work perfectly well when I deny the access)
  2. Go through an 11-step process of uninstalling parallels, creating a new admin user, re-installing Parallels for that user, etc.
Given that I always operate on a principle of least privilege from a security standpoint, it is troubling that Parallels cannot explain to me why they are asking for this excessive amount of access to my system -- let alone tell me how to make them stop asking.
I decided that the 11-step set of flaming hoops to jump through to MAYBE address this was more than I was willing to do. I will continue selecting "Do Not Allow".
