Why is network access so slow in Parallels

I run both PD15 and the current release of VMware. When running downloads (mostly of fixes for the Mojave virtual machine on each) VMware out performs PD15 by a large margin (20 mins download on PD15 versus about 11 on VMware). I have submitted problem reports in the past and never heard back. I can provide Wireshark traces if needed.
It is enough to make me use VMware most of the time.

is it possible to collect the tech report right after the issue with 20 min downloads reproduced and post the report's ID here?

Its just the 'standard' Linux Mint software update tool running.

I am facing same issue how to solve

I have a suspicion that it may be related to Parallels virtual network adapter (virtio) that is selected by default. I switched to a virtual Intel ethernet adapter and it seems to run somewhat faster.

I noticed significantly less network performance on VM (Parallels Desktop Business Version 15.1.2 (47123))
When i run a speed test this is what i got from my HOST machine vs Parallels VM

Host Machine (Mid 2014 Retina Macbook Pro)

Latest Stable MacOS via Parallels VM.
