The info about Parallels Lite in the KB and on the Mac Apple Store page say:
"Note: Existing Parallels DesktopĀ® for Mac users are not recommended to move to Parallels Desktop Lite."
Is there a technical reason for this or is just to avoid losing paying customers?
    Thanks

Hi @Mike, Parallels Desktop Lite has the same basic features as Parallels Desktop Standard: it enables you to run Windows, Linux and their applications on your Mac without rebooting. You can run these Windows and Linux applications side-by-side with Mac applications.

However, there are some differences between Parallels Desktop Lite and Parallels Desktop for Mac, and these are listed in this article. That's the reason we are not recommended to move to Parallels Desktop Lite for Parallels Desktop users.

Thanks for quick reply, so if I am happy to do without the extra features there is no reason not to use Lite, and existing VMs will work.

Parallels typically releases a major update with each annual release of the macOS.....is Parallels Lite updated if neccessary?
