Will uninstall reclaim disk space?

I'm running Parallels 10, and when I installed it I allocated WAY too much space on my hard drive for the couple of PC applications I use it for.
My question is: if I uninstall Parallels 10, can I reclaim all that disk space, and then upgrade to Parallels 12 and allocate much less disk space to it?

Uninstalling is not a problem - there is nothing about my virtual machine that needs to be saved. I just want to make sure I can reclaim the disk space. Will uninstalling it automatically free-up the space, or are additional steps necessary?

    Thanks

    Hi ToddS3,
The following is a Knowledgebase article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/122668 and manual instructions: http://kb.parallels.com/114654
This will make the size of your vm smaller.
When I needed to reclaim diskspace on my Mac in the past I have moved my VM's to an external drive with enough space to run them without affecting my internal drive. I do turn my external drive setup off when not in use. I did not delete or uninstall Parallels from my desktop. It is the .pvm file not the program(Parallels) that is taking up space the .pvm is your actual vm. If you intend to delete your vm follow these instructions: http://kb.parallels.com/en/5029: Then create a new VM from the menu (If it is Windows you will need the proper licenses from Microsoft).
If you have any other questions please ask.

I have some old .pvm files on my Mac from an old TimeMachine backup. There were associated with Parallels 11 on a previous MacOS. I've now a more recent MacOS which doesn't support Parallels 11. I'd like to free the space used by these old .pvm files. I tried deleting one file but it didn't freed space on my disk. Can you provide assistance on how I can free space by deleting old .pbm files without having the Parallels App anymore?

    Thanks,
    Axelle
