    I need to be able to run Windows 7, and I am trying to find out whether it will run under Parallels 17 if I upgrade to it

    Hello, on intel mac you can run Windows 7 using Parallels Desktop 17. Please refer to this KB article for checking Parallels Desktop supported guest OS.
