Window size is too big!

I was using XP in Parallels today in full-screen mode. When I hit control-alt to get back to the smaller size, nothing happened -- I tried several times with the same result. At that point, I had to leave, so I shut down XPf while in full-screen mode and quit Parallels.

Now when I open Parallels the "small screen" mode is so large that I can't see the bottom where the Start menu is, let alone the CD drive icon and all of the other stuff down at the bottom. If I minimize an app, I can't get to it to get it visible again.

If I go into full-screen mode again, I can access minimized apps, but I still can't access the icons at the bottom right where the network settings, CD drive and that sort of thing are located.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get things back to normal? Thanks!
 
Assuming you have Parallels Tools installed and are using Version 1970...Go back into XP. Right click on the desktop and then select properties. CLick on the settings tab then change the screen resolution to 800x600 then select OK. You should be good to go now. Parallels Tools will automatically resize your full screen mode to the correct resolution eventhough you have it set to 800x600. If Parallels Tools is not installed, install it when in windows full screen mode. You need it in order to resize the screen correctly.

Note: This is fixed in RC2 3150 & RC3 3170, but because these are release candidates you may not want to upgrade now as these are not a full releases yet.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! That worked perfectly! :) I did have Tools installed, so it was a simple process to do what you suggested. I do think I'll wait for the full release to upgrade, now that I know what the fix is, in case it should happen again.

Thanks once more -- you've saved me lots of frustration! :)
