Windows 10 Unaccessable Boot Device

Hello,

I downloaded Windows 10 to my PC and loaded the disk image onto an external drive, then dropped it onto the desktop on my mac. When i open the .pvm file it goes into the 'preparing to configure windows' but the windows 10 tries to boot up and keeps restarting forever with the 'inaccessible boot device' error. Anyone know how to fix this?
