n't use the snapshot feature because it's too slow (and frankly don't trust it). I manually copy a VM file to an external disk prior to (and after) any Parallels updates because I've been stung with messed up VMs by the install process before. I simply restored the backed up file to /Library/Parallels afterwards to bring it back to the original TPM settings. Doubtful that bitlocker is actually used on my system and the actual issue is Parallels implementation of TPM in Intel-based Parallels, given what MSInfo is reporting. Should also add that I'm doing this on an early-2013 MBP (10,1) running Catalina (10.15.7), which likely contributed to the performance issues.

I can ditto everything you've just said, right down to the early-2013 running Catalina. Eliminating the TPM Chip in the configuration and changing the EfiSecureBoot from 1 to 0 worked for me yesterday. Now I find it hilarious how Parallels suddenly releases an alleged fix for this the very next day. #smh

I can confirm that the latest update (18.0.2 - 53077) has resolved this issue (for me at least). I unhid the offending KB5012170, refreshed the Windows update and it appeared and installed immediately.

    I upgraded to 18.0.2 (53077) and my Windows 11 VM still refuses to install KB5012170 - 0x800f0922

I have High Sierra, therefore Parallels Desktop 17.0.4, as Parallels International GmbH said it supports Windows 11 in Parallels Desktop 17. Will you provide an update to 17 as well?

I'm terribly sorry for interrupting twice in the wrong thread, I can't find the edit button. I actually meant 17.1.4, not 17.0.4. Sorry!

For anyone who still have an issue on 18.0.2 (53077), could you try to restart (not suspend or shutdown) VM before try to install KB5012170.

    Hi Konstantin,
I just did, as you advised. But unfortunately the update still won't install. I always got the error: 0x800f0922.
    Best regards,
    Oliver

I was able to successfully install KB5012170 on Windows10 after upgrading to Parallels 18.0.2 (without having to resort to removing the TPM chip, etc.).

I am also having this issue. I downloaded the latest hot fix (v. 18.0.2) and still cannot install the update and am getting error 0x800f0922. I've also tried restarting the VM as suggested above with no luck.

This was first observed just after the Parallels 18 release on August 9. Install error: 0x800f0922 for the "2022-08 Security Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5012170)". Regular checks and resets have been made. As usual, other Windows upgrades take place. Only the Intel iMac 18,3 lets me see it. The "2022-08 Security Update for Windows 11 for ARM64-based Systems (KB5012170)" was successfully installed on October 8, 2022, on the M1 MacBook Air 10,1.
