I'm having fun and games getting Windows Server 2012 R2 essentials edition to get past the configuration wizard within the latest build of Parallels Desktop 11. The wizard errors out at 29% with nothing of note in the event log. The VM has 2 cores and I've tried between 4 and 12Gb of RAM. Running on a 2011 iMac Quad Core i5 with 32Gb RAM. the install works just fine with VirtualBox, btw. Does anyone have any ideas..?

Amazing! This post is one year old and I'm getting the exact same problem. Was there ever a solution to this? Maybe this is why I don't see many people installing Windows Server 2012 on Parallels. The Windows Server 2012 R2 essentials Configuration wizard errors out at exactly 29%. Using Mac OSX Sierra with Parallels Desktop 12 installed. I guess I will be switching to VirtualBox.
