I installed Windows 7 but cannot connect to the Internet. The network settings are the same as my Win XPP vm which can connect. Any ideas? It shows that it is receiving and sending packets and I can ping my router but I cannot do a trace route or ping a site on the Internet. Of course IE is not working.

1) Make sure that Parallels Tools are installed
2) Switch to the Shared Networking mode.
If this doesn't help, click Start -> Run and execute cmd.exe. Type in the appeared window command "ipconfig /all". Then, without closing the window, click Parallels Destkop menu "Help"->"Report a Problem", send a problem report (it is not necessary to provide description) and post here the report ID.

Please carry out these instructions:
1. If you are able to ping the websites from the command prompt and not from the internet explorer, then most probably culprit would be the faulty internet explorer.
2. Please download firefox or any other browser in Mac and then install it by using a USB device.
3. If then also you are not receiving any internet connection, please disable Anti Virus if any and try.
4. Also go to Devices -> Network Adapter 1 -> Choose Bridged Networking and default adapter.
5. Check if you have any internet connection now.
6. Also let me know the IP address of the system. (using ipconfig in the command prompt).

Hi, I just install Parallels Desktop 5.0 on my MacBook laptop, and then I install de Windows 7 Ultimate everything was going fine. I put McAffee antivirus and the problems started. The Windows tell me that my Windows copy was not original. I register the copy again. Windows register fine but its seems that McAffe version was not compatible with Windows 7, so I unistall it and the the install the parallels antivirus free option. Again my Windows needs to be register, I did it again, but now my network icon tells me that I'm not connected but when I open explorer everything goes fine. What can I do, because the network icon warns me, but everything seems to work fine with the network.

I have not been able to get certain devisces on the mac to work/shared on windows 7. I have macbook pro 2.53hrz, 320gb hd, core 2 duo, 1 procecesr,2 core, 4gb mem.
I am running Parallels 5 with windows 7 Pro full version. I do get the etherner symbol in the task bar, as if it were ether connection working on W7. But sees the mac but will not open the files
