Windows 8.1 shows TWO cursors - a black and a white one - moving around as "twins"

In Windows 8.1 I get 2 cursors - a black one with white lines around it and a white one with a black borderline. This does not show up when I open a Windows XP emulation. The black cursor is the same as the regular mac-cursor while the white cursor is somewhat larger and follows the black cursor.

Here are 2 screenshots (I tried to catch the different positions of the cursors when moving)

I have coherence disabled and run Windows with no connection to the Mac-host or the mac-filessystem (OSX 10.7.5)

I am using the latest version of Parallels Desktop 9
The cursor-function is ok - i.e. I can click and drag

Any idea what is causing this ?

Thanks for your hint. The first time I deleted and reinstalled Parallel Tools vers. 9.0.24220 only one cursor appeared while I was in the desktop environment. The moment I pressed the command key on my MacBook to switch to the tiles environment, I got again 2 cursors. Before I tried a second time the delete/reinstall routine I unchecked all hardware extras in the configurations like 3D-acceleration, vertical sycnc, no smart mouse, no optimization for games. After that second delete/reinstall routine was done and - so far - there is only on cursor. What did the trick is not exactly clear.

I am still not sure, if the Windows 8.1 installation remains stable - in a way it appears compared to Windows XP kind of sluggish and slow. And sometimes it takes about 30 seconds for a click or key punch to result in visible actions. At first I was not the patient and clicked many times because I thought, that my first clicks were not well done. But after a while the screen run wild showing all the actions cause by my clicking. My gut feelings is that Windows 8.1 is doing much more behind the curtain without displaying "open" signs of activity compared to XP. And during this time out for windows-internal jobs it turns its back to the user.

So I will see how well it will work and in case I get again 2 cursors, I may be back

This might happen if Parallels Tools aren't installed properly.

Please try to (re)installing Parallels Tools as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/4841 and check if it is working fine.!!!
