Windows Application List in dock is incomplete

I upgraded to Parallels 5.0 and like many of the new features, including the Windows Applications stack in the dock. However, about half of the applications that show up on my Start Menu in Windows so not show up on the Windows Applications stack in the dock.

Please help me - without figuring out how to add these missing apps to that list, this feature is nearly useless because my most used programs are missing.

This is really a problem, and happens also for me; I use the Italian localized version of Parallels Desktop 5, and there is also the additional problem that the folders "Accessories", etc. still have their English names in the Dock menu.

(BTW, a similar issue is present also in VMware Fusion 3: the Applications menu is incomplete for localized versions of Win7/Vista.)

Hi,
please try the following:
1. Open Virtual Machine menu > Configure > Options tab > Shared Applications
2. Clear 'Share Windows applications with Mac OS X' checkbox, click OK
3. Locate PVM bundle corresponding to the virtual machine you need (usually ~/Documents/Parallels)
4. Right-click PVM bundle, select Show Package Contents option. New Finder Windows with files will open
5. Locate Windows Applications folder and drag it to Trash
6. Empty Trash
7. Enable 'Share Windows applications with Mac OS X' checkbox in VM configuration, click OK
This will recreate up-to-date Windows applications.

So, I did that, but nothing essentially changed in the "Windows 7 Applications" Dock menu; some folders are still missing: "Giochi" (or "Games") and "Esecuzione automatica" (or "Autostart"); and "Accessories", "Administrative Tools" and "Maintenance" are still in English (while in Italian it should be "Accessori", "Strumenti di amministrazione" and "Manutenzione); "Programmi predefinti" ("Default Programs") and "Windows Update" are also missing*.

It looks like new programs/folders are added correctly.

It also looks like programs have their correct localized name, while folders remain in English; and both are incomplete compared to the original "All Programs" ("Tutti i programmi") section of the Windows 7 Start Menu.

* ... While, FYI, in VMware Fusion 3's Applications menu - which has similar problems - they are the only items appearing in Italian Win7. So, both in Parallels Desktop 5 and in Fusion 3, maybe this bug has something to do with the method used to obtain the contents of the Windows 7 Start Menu - who knows...
