Windows Error Code 9048

Hi,

Hallelujah for Build 3186!

Finally Parallels has fixed that pesky USB problem, and my NavPlanner (Marine Navigation Program from Navionics) running under Windows 2000 can now at least see the Multi Card Reader.

Alas, so close and yet so far! I am afraid that I am now up against some Windows quirks that I am unfamiliar with.

As NavPlanner attempts to read from the SD card in the Multi Card Reader, it gives up after a while, and the following error message appears:

(SUBSTITUTE ERROR MESSAGE)
Application Unknown type of ERROR: 9048
Fatal Error - Not Enough Characters Read From The File
Hint: 0(0)

The Internet that is supposed to be full of information, but isn’t of much help. There are countless pages listing Windows Error codes, but not one shows Error 9048, let alone any kind of remedy...

There are some programmers here on this site...

Can someone help me with some advice?

Hi,

Perhaps this error is not a Windows issue after all. There is still something in Parallels Desktop that doesn’t handle reading from USB devices quite right.

The reason:

NavPlanner runs perfectly, albeit slowly, on my wife's G4 iBook with Microsoft‘s Virtual PC version 7...

Conclusion: Microsoft’s virtual machine can handle it, Parallels Desktop not yet...

How to Fix Windows Error Code 9048:-
Steps:
- Uninstall the current driver, through this given steps:
- Open Start and Run and type "sysdm.cpl" in the text box.
- click Enter.
- Open the "hardware" tab on the system properties dialog box.
- Press on "device manager".
- Double press on "device type" and then press on the hard ware device that is reporting error code 9048.
- Go to the "driver" tab and press on "uninstall" button to uninstall the device driver completely.

Install the new driver on your computer.
- Restart or reboot your computer.
- Whole scan your PC with good antivirus software.
- Try using a different USB ports.


This will solve your issue, Hope this helps.
