Windows Expanding Disk Threshold?

I need to install a large program, but unfortunately it won't install because I never have enough disk space. I always seem to have just above 100mb free in my expanding disk image. Is there a way to increase this threshold to 1 or 2 gb? That way I always have enough free space and don't get any warnings.

As an aside, in order to free space at one point, I deleted 200mb of files, resulting in 300mb of free space. Strangely, after about 5 minutes or so, that space disappeared! It's as if Parallels shrunk my disk image on the fly or something.

my VM Local disk c is set to 31.2 gb with 20.8 gb used

my psf seems to be on an external drive too 111gb 50 gb used

what are the numbers for your system?
when my Mac Book Pro ran out of space
I rushed out to buy the biggest La Cie FW 800 hard disk from the local Apple Store
I download all my images on to it directly from my cameras and upload them all each day to Flickr so they are well backed up http://www.flickr.com/photos/hughw36/

I don't think that there is a way to increase the threshold of a expanding disk, I think that that is a hard-coded feature, although it would be pretty slick if it could be a dynamic setting. Hint hint.

Anyways, have you looked at static (plain) disks? You could set the size in one of those, and then just expand it when you need to.
