Windows has stopped as it trys to boot

for the first 3 months I had Parallels I had no problems starting up the Windows Vista using Parallels for Mac 3.0 on my OSX 10.5.5. machine.

Now when I start up Parallels desktop the windows Vista stops and the "boot from the hard drive has failed"message comes up. I can't go any further and haven't been able to use it for several monhts now.

Please help
 
Vista will not boot for me as well

The same thing just happened to me today. Everything was working fine yesterday. I am running Vista Home Premium. I am able to use it in Boot camp natively, but it will not load at all in Parallels. I did have to re authorize it when I was running it natively but this did not make it start working in Parallels. Why I had to re authorize, I have no idea since I did not make any hardware changes I know about.

Should I try to start over with parallels and reinstall the virtual machine?
 
start Parallels Desktop holding Command key - in COnfiguration Editor - Hard Disk 1- Advanced -click Clear
Note, you need to activate Windows again
 
I did as you suggested and it still will not boot. Everytime I try to load it, I get the screen that says Windows failed to boot and it suggests I try to repair it by inserting the windows disk. Lower down on the screen, it asks me to try and start it in safe mode or normally, etc. When I do that it crashes and closes.

Then, everytime I restart it in boot camp, it does start up but it says that a change was made and I need to reauthorize. When I do that, it works well. If I re boot in boot camp, it works fine and there are no problems. As soon as I go back to Mac Os X and try to use parallels again, the exact same cycle starts up again. Clearing in the configurator as you suggested makes no difference.

Would it be a good idea for me to completely remove parallels and reinstall it a fresh?

As soon as I push the play symbol to load windows, the window turns over to show the black screen of it trying to boot. About 3 seconds later it states that windows could not load. It asks me to insert the windows disc and then try to repair windows. Just below this is says that if this is the first time I have seen this message, I can try to start in various modes from safe mode down to normal. Any mode I try to start fails in under 2 seconds. Inserting the disc and going through system repair makes it so that I can load it in boot camp and repair it to run natively, but nothing changes this series of events from occuring when I try to open windows from parallels.
