Windows keeps trying to open pages and numbers!

Hi All

I have installed Parallels onto my macbook pro to be able to use a software package that i use for work, the software uses links to files that are in Microsoft excel and work format which i have installed on the virtual machine but every time i click a link that should then open work or excel it keeps trying to open either pages or numbers?, i have tried disabling all sharing options from the configure tab bottom right of the parallels window but still does not work any ideas?

If you don't want any Mac applications to open for anything in Windows: Virtual Machine menu -> Configure -> Options -> Applications -> uncheck "Share Mac applications with Windows".

If you just want to fix Excel and Word, right-click a Word or Excel file in Windows, select Properties, then click the Change button to select to use the correct application.

I have tried that but where the software uses links to Word and excel in windows i see that option if i right click on the link.
