Windows License Question

Hi,

I have Parallels Desktop 6 for my Mac running Snow Leopard.

If I have an extra OEM disc of Vista that came with a PC, can I purchase a Windows 7 Upgrade license and install them both in Parallels? Or, would I need to buy a full version of Windows 7?

If I in fact need the full version of Win7, does anyone know a alternative? I can't afford to drop 200 bucks on a full version of Windows right now. I'm just trying to find a way to run Textpad on my Mac so I can program in Java for my CS class.

I think this depends on where you live and bought the OEM Licence. In Germany the OEM Licence is equal to a full licence including upgrades. In Other countries this might be different...
