Windows Media Centre licence puzzle with W8 Pro

Has anyone had an issue getting a free Windows Media Centre licence key for Windows 8 Pro?

I have W8 Pro installed on another machine and received WMC licence key within minutes of my request. I have installed W8 Pro through Parallels on my iMac and despite now making 5 separate requests for the licence key via the MS Windows website I have received nothing.

Both 8 Pro licences were purchased digitally online so it isn't as though MS don't have details of a genuine purchase. I keep wondering if it has something to do with it being a VM - Windows has been activated though?

I got the keys but windows 8 cannot upgrade

I could get the free key for the media center from Microsoft website;
the problem was in the installation;

I was trying to install the Windows Media player on Windows 8; using the ADD FEATURE option in Windows 8

I have put the Key for the product and it installed 30% and re-booted; after reboot it continued installation BUT then it displayed a message that the installation failed; and it aborted the "update" and re-booted without installing the Windows Media player.
